PLASTIC PAD COOLING SYSTEMS:
Although Celdek pads are commonly used as an evaporative system in most livestock buildings and greenhouses, Celdek has in a lot of cases issues with plucking up over time. Moreover in desert areas sand - next to bacteria, fungi and algue - can cause a lot of problems. Especially regarding the airflow in the respective building. A plucked up pad WILL increase the negative pressure in any ventilation system, causing the fans to under perform. This will result in regular replacement of the installed pads.
Although more expensive, the benefits of plastic pads are obvious:
- easy to install;
- easy to clean from any form of dirt;
- easy to disinfect by using a high pressure cleaner with any detergent;
- 100% UV-resistant
- lasts minimum 5 x times longer compared to Celdek in identical circumstances
- short payback time
- if cleaned regularly: no increase in negative static pressure of the designed/installed ventilation system;
When calculating with a plastic pad system, add 10% surface area compared to Celdek.
